What to Do in Lancaster in the Spring

Spring in Lancaster County offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and family fun - all just minutes from the Eden Resort & Suites. As winter melts away, our picturesque countryside comes alive with vibrant wildflowers, newborn farm animals, and seasonal celebrations that showcase the unique charm of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures, authentic Amish experiences, or family-friendly attractions, Lancaster's spring activities provide the perfect reason to plan your getaway.

Mud Sales

Whether you love scouring for a bargain or want to enjoy an authentic Lancaster County experience, mud sales are a great way to spend the day. Starting in the late winter, you can find the most mud sales during the spring season, though there may also be a few sprinkled throughout the summer months. They usually start in the morning and take place on Saturdays.

You can find furniture, quilts, antiques, farming equipment, livestock, and so much more. We recommend coming hungry: you don't want to miss the delicious food. You can find traditional Amish fare like soups and baked goods that are sure to warm you up if the spring air gets chilly.

Don't forget to pack a pair of boots—they're not called "mud sales" for nothing! Since they most commonly take place in the spring, a mix of rain and just-starting-to-thaw ground means things can get messy. But a little mud is all part of the experience, and attending a mud sale is well worth it.

See Some Baby Animals

What’s spring without seeing a cute young animal or two? Thankfully, Lancaster County offers plenty of options!

Pine View Dairy

Once it's a little warmer, stop by Pine View Dairy. Not only do they have some of the most delicious ice cream in Lancaster County, but they also have adorable calves on the property!

Some examples of what you might get to do include bottle feeding a calf, cuddling baby goats, and helping feed sheep, horses, and donkeys. Afterwards, you'll get access to their 15-acre farm so you can spend the rest of the day exploring.

Take a Scenic Drive

If you're looking for a laid-back way to spend an afternoon, going for a scenic drive around Amish country is a great way to take in some scenery and spot some animals. You'll likely see foals, lambs, calves, and more. Consider stopping by a farm stand to pick up some local treats like whoopie pies.

Li'l Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm

The Li'l Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm offers a charming stop on your drive where you can see miniature horses up close. Your kids can participate in grooming sessions or pony rides.
